This Privacy Policy describes how the EmA mobile application by emdrtech (the “App”) handles your information.
EmA is published by UMA Bilişim Danışmanlık Hizmetleri Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi (“we”, “us”, “our”) and is designed exclusively for trained EMDR practitioners as a Bluetooth companion to the emdrtech EMA bilateral stimulation device.
Summary
EmA does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. All session activity stays on your device. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Information We Do Not Collect
EmA does not collect any of the following:
* Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
* Device identifiers (Advertising ID, IDFA, Android ID)
* IP addresses or network metadata
* Location data
* Browser, operating system, or device type information for analytics purposes
* Crash reports, performance metrics, or telemetry
* Session content, client information, or any data about EMDR practice sessions
On-Device Storage Only
All data created by your use of EmA — including session counters, session logs, BLS settings, sound preferences, and paired device identifiers — is stored locally on your phone using the operating system’s app storage. This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling EmA permanently deletes all of this data.
Bluetooth Permissions
EmA requests the Bluetooth permission solely to discover and communicate with paired emdrtech EMA hardware over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). On Android 12 and newer, the Bluetooth scanning permission is declared with the “neverForLocation” flag, indicating that EmA does not derive location information from Bluetooth scans. EmA does not request location permission.
Headphone Detection
EmA reads whether wired or Bluetooth headphones are connected to your device in order to route audio bilateral stimulation to headphones when required. This information is used only at runtime to control audio routing and is neither stored nor transmitted.
No Third-Party Services
EmA does not embed third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude), advertising networks, attribution services, or crash reporting services. The app does not communicate with our servers or any third-party servers in normal operation.
Data Sharing
Because EmA does not collect any data, there is no data to share, sell, or disclose to third parties.
Children’s Privacy
EmA is intended for use by qualified EMDR practitioners (adults). The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Your Rights
Under Türkiye KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698) and EU GDPR (Regulation 2016/679), you have rights regarding your personal data. Because EmA does not collect any personal data, no data subject requests apply to the EmA App itself. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent changes took effect. Material changes will be communicated through the App or this page.
